Jacques
Here is a beautiful picture showing few officers of the Panzergruppe Drohne. It was taken in Cubas (Spain).Hptm. Ziegler , Otl. von Thoma, Hptm. JansaOlt. Bothe, Olt. Willing, Hptm. Ostmann. At the top, I think he is Mj.CrohnIt is interesting to see the berets which show the skull with the rank's stars and not the swastica. David Gregory
Jaques,This is not my field of collecting, but I do appreciate a rare photo of identified recipients of such badges with the badges in wear.David

Jacques
Another one, early dated December 1936
Jacques
Another one. Both are wearing large berets which look like to the early Panzer beret but without the inside protection. Note the SS style skull which is absolutly odd on such a headgear.
PKeating
I suspect that the Spanish street scene could be a backdrop. I could be mistaken but the two legionnaires appear to be wearing the woollen RAD uniforms issued for the Berlin victory parade along with, as you say, incorrect Panzertruppe beret outers decorated with 2nd pattern SS cap skulls. I reckon this was done in a studio in Germany in the summer of 1939 for guys who had no photos of themselves in Spain.PK Edited January 7, 2007 by PKeating
Laurence Strong
Nice photo's It would appear as if the last photo is a studio setup
Jacques
Yes, it could be possible. Look at the right part of the picture, there is a boot part of someone walking on.Which could help us is the wear of te spanish cross (nt visible there) that could indicate a picture taken in Germany. Overwise this picture could have been taken in Spain, during the last days, between the Madrid Parade and the departure from Vigo harbour.I must check if the LC members were decorated with flowers during the parades in Spain. Jacques
Hi,I didn't find pictures with flowers taken in Spain. This picture was taken in Germany. It could be a studio photo.I found another picture which seem to be taken in a quite same sunny place too.

Jacques
This one is just preceding the D?beritz ceremony on June 3rd 1939. We recognize Wolf and willing.

Jacques
a newly acquired photo showing an NCO wearing the LC panzer badge. It seems that his shoulder have a nr. 5 for the Pz.Rgt.5. Many former members of the PzGruppe Drohne seems to have been appointed to that regiment when returning to Germany.

Jacques
found this one. Which is interesting is that he doesn't wear the SC, only the LCPz badge and the campaign medal; may be he lost his spanish cross !
