Hi, it's the "Order of the Republic" not Qassim. Nice piece!

    Owain

PS. The reverse inscription has slipped by 90 degrees - the date should be at the bottom.

Here you go another picture of the reverse side of the Order of the Republic

    Any ideas about the star.Weight 52,60 gr.Size 60х60 mm.

Where did you find this one, this could be a fantasy piece with a cut of Saddam's Image like they did to the old Bakr Teachers Badges. Some sort of Breast Badge in support of Saddam.

    It looks Very Nice:

I sent a scan of the star to my friend in Iraq to see if he could help you out. His reply was that he has never seen a star like this and he has collected badges and medals in Iraq for many years . Sorry I can't help you out but I tried.

Nut al Shujat/Bravery Medals these type were awarded for the Iraq Iran War 1980-88: First 4 from the left were manufactured by Assmann Company in Germany: The last one was manufactured in Iraq, which would have cam in a small plastic box with a transparent top.
