ERIC Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Here's a zinc unmarked Night Fighter Clasp I picked up locally. Found it almost buried in a showcase of bric-a-brac at a Gun Show of all places. Don't just walk by those cluttered showcases guys, look in them! ERIC
DavidM Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 HelloI'm no expert on these, but it looks to me like a nice, original short range night fighter clasp.
Scott Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 I like it too. Is that the raised Souval 'circle' mark on the lower center?Scott

DavidM Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 HelloI saw the circle as well but was unsure as to what it was. I know that on the 57 re-issue versions of these, a circle is taken as indicating that Steinhauer und Luck made the piece. Based on the comment that this is the Souval circle, would all pre 1945 items like this with a circle be from Souval ?
Flak88 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 I have the circle as S&L...as there are wartime pieces marked with the circle. Most notably KM badges.Marc

Could someone post one of the Kriegsmarine Badges which has the circle that Marc refers to? ERIC
Flak88 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Frank has one on page 176 of the General Assault Badge book. A wartime E-boat badge by S&L marked with the circle.Marc
ERIC Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 OK, cool Marc, thanks - I'll check it out. ERIC

Flak88 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Pete,Could i use your badge in my upcoming Flak book?Marc
paddywhack Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 ok fairly old thread but how much did you pick this sweet clasp up for??
ERIC Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 I believe it was for the hefty sum of $225. The fellow was sure he had something of value, but didn't know what the clasp actually was. If I remember correctly his wife called it "the thing with the swastika on it" when I asked her how much they were asking for it. ERIC
