Painted Plastic Medal Bar... with a MAKER'S Mark

I've had this one for a while and hadn't examined it closely. It is about half the thickness depth of the ones usually found, and from this combination, seems to have been a VERY luxurious item for an Enlisted Comrade:

but open the pin and lost in the tarnish:

Made in a country which did NOT use the Cyrillic alphabet!

The lack of anniversary ribbons, and the style of the logo makes me think German or Austrian manufacture.

No victory medals either... I am confused by this as well. I would not think that the Austrian or Germans(unless IMMEDIATE Post War) would be in a position to make Soviet decorations?

Mebbe the gent in question had other bars and this is only part of all his medals. I think that unless one has the documentation or research to back up a group, one can never safely assume that the group is complete.

Just a possibility you might forget to consider.

I'd say definitely a top row. The M1945 parade uniforms of the period could only fit 5 across, leading to photos with the odd leftovers pinned below.

I have owned a few of these groups with the plastic ribbons...none with maker's marks on the brass though...

One set was to an artillery colonel (5 bar) and my cavalier group (the 3 glories mounted on plastic ribbons)...

I am thinking they were privately done... perhaps due to the fact that soviet soldiers (active and retired) wore their medals so frequently/commonly - it was probably ideal to preserve the cloth and where plastic...as it could be easily cleaned..
