Anatoly13 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 There are the other style of the IKOM screwbacks on this heap.
Tim B Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) Hi Anatoly! Yes, I see that appears to be the case here. I was not aware of the different styles. Is there a reason or perhaps timeline that explains the differences (I/e: different period or manufacturer)? The one I show is in the same ballpark of serial numbers, so my guess is the timeline of manufacture is not a factor. Tim Edited August 26, 2009 by Tim B

Tim B Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 Tim! Manufacturer is the same - IKOM. Different releases of orders in time were completed with different types of discs. I have not found out harmonous system in that... Yes, hard to understand sometimes; can only imagine what collectors 50 years from now will wonder or conclude on the issue then! Thank you! Do we have good clear closeup shots of the different styles anywhere? Tim

Luka Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Very nice and interesting piece, congratulations!
Jakov Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 Excellent find and very unusual (to say at least) combination. Congrats:D
Valter Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Very nice piece, Anatoly! This is most likely private-made modification. Perhaps the owner didnt' want to puncture uniform/suit and made it to a pin by jeweler.

Anatoly13 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) I'm waiting for more orders of this person with the same pins... Edited October 1, 2009 by Anatoly13
Valter Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I though this is IKOM's work... It could be, but not "official" one. I've never seen (not even in catalogs) "officially" converted screw-back partisan stars to pin-backs (as was common with Bortherhood, Merit to the people or labor orders), and in all these cases "official" conversion was made with different pins and the quality of the work was far better. These scratches (even one arm of the star is abraded considerably) are in my opinion a sign of worksmanship of someone who has some experience (a "professional" pin which is not easily available), but not with orders and decorations - some village /small town juweler or even a locksmith.
SasaYU Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Valter has a point. I also haven't seen this type of conversion yet.
Anatoly13 Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 At least I think this is IKOM's conversations. Accurate work with good quality.
SasaYU Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Nice pieces Anatoly, with low numbers too .
Tim B Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Just kicking the thread back up with a recent addition. Tim
