Hello,

I would like to share with you photos of my Aux Cruisers badge by Schwerin Berlin. This badge was given to me back in 1980 by a family friend who was a WWII veteran.

This is a textbook example of what a good one should look like.

That looks like it was made yesterday!! Whoever kept this medal in that pristine shape should be thanked, that is unbelievable how the gilt has stayed put so perfectly. I thought mine had a nice gilt left, but this one makes it look like a relic!

I think that the Schwerin Auxiliary Cruiser badge is probably the finest of all the Kriegsmarine badges produced and you certainly have a stunning example.

I have one in zinc and although the guilding has faded the detail is superb.

Hard to tell from the scan but is your badge slightly vaulted?
