HeikoGrusdat
Hello all, does anyone of you have any information about a man from Baden, his name is Max Wechsler. All I know is that he got the Z?hringer L?we knights cross second class WITHOUT swords in 1896. Everything would help... his profession, more awards, some life dates....thank you very muchHeiko

webr55
Without having any specific information on Wechsler: In those days, "?konom" did not necessarily mean economist, but most often someone who was in an agricultural profession. There were titles like "?konomierat" - an official in agriculture.

Glenn J
webr55 does have a point,my Langenscheidt dictionary gives a translation of ?konom as an "agriculturist" whereas ?kononomie as either economy or agricultural undertaking.RegardsGlenn
