the high bidder realizes that the cross is not included.

I reckon that's the mistake here. I'd be tad miffed once the auction ends to find out I'd just bought the worlds most expensive case!

So what's the point of including pictures with the cross? Seems like someone was using it as bait. Even though people are crazy not to read the entire sale verbage.

I can see that the winner is one of my countrymen, so German shouldn't be unknown to him...

And actually his bid was made even after the seller (again) added the information that the cross was not included (yes, the seller included the cross in the picture, but if you read the text it says VERY clearly that the cross is not included).

Although the price is extremely high for the case I will say the case is very, very rare. I have seen the same patriotic saying in a EK2 case, but only one in an EK1 case. A other then standard EK1 case is very hard to find.
