Alex K Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Hi attached is my EK11 1870, made by Wagner. Attached to it are these strange 25th anniversary oakleaves. These are completely different from the normal ones. Does anyone know if these are a different type or a totally spurious attachment? the oakleaves do appear to contemporary and made by a manufacturer who made medals of the period. purely for display purposes, they are attached to a newer piece of ribbon, the original is however shown.any help appreciatedthanksAlex
Tom Y Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 (edited) I would guess the oaks are from a Veterans'Association pin. Edited April 8, 2007 by Tom Y
buellmeister Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Tom, You are indeed correct. It is a the top to a Veteran's Assoc. Pin.Joel

Alex K Posted April 8, 2007 Author Posted April 8, 2007 Hi Buellmeister interesting photo, yours is in better condition then mine!!, I can assume that it has nothing to do with the EK11, What sort of decoration would it have been attached to?regards
buellmeister Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Alex, Here is a picture of the full medal. I'm afraid is doesn't have anything to do with an EKII.Regards,Joel

buellmeister Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Alex, I believe they are post WWI. Regards,Joel
Steve campbell Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I would remove them as they don't belong on the medal.
Alex K Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Hi Steve, I came to the conclusion that better off without them on the medal, at least it shows the original ribbon of betterregards
