Bob Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Here you go.Please don't bombard with pics UNLESS it's a different type or if same type but new high/low. After all, I think we all know what this order looks like:)
Vatjan Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 (edited) These are indeed the 4 main types, this goes for the first class aswell. There are however many, many more variations, based on the design style of the "1" or the "2", the opacity of the enamel and the calligraphy of the serial number (for the types with rotating tool serials).I have tried to catalogue all the different variations, but lack of items to study, and the bad quality of the photos of the ones I could study, has seriously diminished my courage, let alone my eyesight.Maybe one day.... Vatjan Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 The 1st class also has four main types. There is a light enamel/order style pinback variation and a dark enamel/simple pinback one.Cfr. 2nd classJan
Ed_Haynes Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Just in, a new 2nd class. I won't post it, following Bob's wise advice, unless we really want to try to disentangle the minor sub-varieties. It is #130167 and what I show as a:Type 1.2 (Screwback, Mongolian-made); Low = 52404/High = 169768; 1969-85The first interesting part is the screw-nut (which, of course, may not be original. Scan attached.
Vatjan Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I believe this is the correct screwnut for this type.Well, anyway, I got the same on mine Jan
Ed_Haynes Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 The second interesting factor is the matching awards booklet. Perhaps worth showing in full to flesh-out the thread.

Ed_Haynes Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Page 4, 1981 award with facsimilie Tsedenbal signature. Can anyone read her name?
Ed_Haynes Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Page 5. The statutes. Created 1957, 1st class for 8 children.
Ed_Haynes Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 And, finally, page 7. Financial considerations? Tugrik 200 per month for 1st class, and 100 for 2nd class? Don't spend it all in one place.
Vatjan Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Hi Ed, this is the first time I see some writing (Photo not required?) in the photo box. Nice There are many variations of the id booklets. Will try to post them later today.Jan
