Soviet Two orders of the red star

Hi guys,

I just got in these two nice early pieces, they are numbered 113 489 and 152 557, the research has already been ordered but as it takes so long for research to get done, I would like to ask here what is your best guess, when and where were they awarded. Does anyone have a similar numbered researched red star in his collection?

Yes, as Christian says: RESEARCH!

Anything else is mere guesswoirk, sometimes informed guesses, sometimes not. You won't know until you KNOW.

They're early enough to be interesting, back when the Red Star still mattered. But they're not so early as to elude research efforts.

Now you only have to arrange to live long enough to get your research results back.

Echoes Of War shows 113,397 being awarded 11/5/42 on the North Western Front.

152,461 on 11/6/42 on the Northern Caucasus Front (18th Army)

I just heard that research was ready for two of my awards (RS 103683 & OPWII 44030). The results are on my way (it took exactly three months). If they are interesting I will post them here...

The Researcher has told me that he will have a "large bundle" for me at OMSA. we shall see . . . . Hope is alive.

Thanks for help guys. I wasn't sure that these were 1942 awards untill now. Where was north-western front? I must check what happened there at that time.

The North-Western Front was located in the Leningrad - Baltic area (formed on 22 June 1941 out of the Baltic Special Military District). In 1942 it was commanded by Lieutenant-General Kurochkin and after him MSU Timoshenko.
