Chris Boonzaier Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 Give you a hint..."somethng like that would NEVER have passed German quality control !!!"
Stogieman Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Actually, you'd be pretty surprised at what went through, even Imperial! I have pix in my archive of a Mecklenburg FFK2........ with the ?se soldered on the bottom arm!I've had a number of 1870 EK2's with radical tilt to one of the arms.... and they were issued that way!
Guest Rick Research Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Thilly! That is the insanely rare naval Starboard Watch issue, suspended off center to compensate for the pitch and yaw of a warship.234made aboard ship, BTW-- hence the rather irregular silver edge finishing.
Stogieman Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 My Evil Twin might have a scan of this somewhere, sorry for the pix, tough to shoot fire-gilt with my equipment!
Guest Rick Research Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Indeed. One of the attributes of being the Good Ricky is saving Amazing Ricky Vision? scans of the Evil Ricky's stuff:[attachmentid=9200][attachmentid=9201]These, of course, were awarded to aviators, so they could see them right side up while waaaaaaay up in the sky. And then there was the Limping 1870... [attachmentid=9202]Monday work.
joe campbell Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 does this mean you paid 00.001$ for it??too cool not to be real!or someone's idea of a practical joke...or a friday, 4:30 pm cross....joe
Tom Y Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 MEH really blew it on this one. The core was stamped, flipped end for end, and restamped
Guest Rick Research Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 This is turning into an Ugly Contest! I have never seen so many "seconds" for Second Classes!!
Stogieman Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 I don't think they're "uglies".... I think it's pretty darn neat to see pieces like this........ just like it is to get those parade-mounted medal bars with the EK2, etc. on backwards!
Chris Boonzaier Posted August 26, 2005 Author Posted August 26, 2005 I once saw a KVK2, LDO and all that with the ring on the bottom side !
