What a wonderful collection  , and a very informative thread. I have only two ww I EK II's in my collection, one on a medal bar, and one single, but I must say that I love them. The design of the imperial iron crosses, are beautiful.

    All the best

    Hello Andreas ! :jumping:

Well, for beginners three rules to respect :

    - magnetic cross (for iron core)

    - build in three parts

    - and a code with letters or numbers, a manufacture mark in fact, in suspension ring

It's a little more difficult in reality but if you start a collection you need to follow these rules and you'll be protected against fakes !! :speechless1:

    Have a nice day,

    All the best,

Yes, but some good ones are non magnetic, are sometimes 1 piece and not all are marked on the ring. Many are unmarked. Fortunatley, 1914 EK2s are a fairly safe area to collect that has not been heavily hit with fakes.
