Motorhead Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 This one is new in my collection-the painting of the core is very rough, the quality at all is very low....a typical Victoria DRGM At the reverse of the screw is a nother marking-It looks like a 2 or a 7..........Micha
buellmeister Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 (edited) Micha, That is an interesting Maker Mark. To my recollection, I don't think I have ever come across, "Victoria" in my travels. Very Nice! Regards,Joel Edited December 16, 2007 by buellmeister
joe campbell Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 lovely piece with some righteous wear, micha!looks like a 7 on steroids....joe
Motorhead Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 This one isn't in the condition I want for my collection.....but they don't grew on trees and the disc is clearly readable so I had to take it.Maybe one nice day a better one will knock at my door....Micha
Steve campbell Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 What's the story on these Victoria marked pieces? Is that the maker? I think it's an awesome item.
buellmeister Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Micha, When that day comes, please keep me in mind for buying this one my friend! Cheers,Joel

gregM Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I've got one that is a match to this one except that the makers mark on mineis so weakly struck that it is barely readable. As is the case with most of thesecrosses.FYI--there are at least 3 different core variations for this cross showing3 distinctly different crowns.
andy Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Micha do you know if this type of plate is only to this maker orhave you come across it on other makers crosses. I only ask as I have a cross with the same rear plate but not maker markedthanksandy

Mine has tobe held at just the right angle, in just the rightlight to be able to make it out at all. Sometimes themark is more noticable from the underside or crossside of the backing plate.
