    Thrashing Carl Holler's roads...

    Dear friends,

In my eternal search for Carl Holler's history, I got last week one more victory.

In 1972 I traveled to Germany, with the objective of knowing my German relatives. My grandfather Johannes Wilhelm August Kruse (nephew of Carl Holler), as some of you they should already know, he had 3 brothers. The oldest was Friedrich Kruse (in the house of who I was accommodated in 1972), married with Lieselott Minna Marie Kruse (born Binneb?se) been born in 1911. In that they travel, I met Doroth?a Margarete Elise Kruse,Tante Dorchen, my grandfather's newest brother's widow, Max Kruse, MIA during WWII. Tante Dorchen and Max, had a son, Gerhard, born in 1940 and married with Heidelinde. When I met Gerhard and Heidelinde, they were married it made little time.

I went back to Brazil, and after some letters, I lost contact with them. The years passed, and after my discovery on Carl Holler, the will of finding my family again returned. Thirty three years had passed, I didn't have more idea of as you find them. One day, all of a sudden, I remembered that tante Dorchen, the mother of Gerhard, spoke Esperanto. I researched in the internet and I discovered the email of the headquarters of Esperanto in Hamburg. I sent a message telling my history concisely and I asked for help to find the adress of Gerhard. The following day I had answer.

Summarizing, I am again in contact with them. Aunt Liselotti is alive, good of health, and with 94 years. Unhappily Heidelinde died in passed January. Gerhard and Aunt Lotti were very happy of re-tying the contact with me and I still ended up knowing Matthias and Gerhild (son and daughter of Gerhard and Heidelinde).

The most extraordinary in that everything is that, Gerhard is a specialist of the family Holler, and, in spite of not having contact with she already does some years, he told me that Uwe Holler, daughter of Carl Holler, is still alive. In next days he will send me her address.

Last, Gerhard told me that it possesses some unpublished pictures of Carl Holler, some documents, and that, when he has time to seek, he will send me. He also told me that in the eighties, after Carl Holler's collection it was sold by Uwe, he visited for her, and that still saw there a lot of things of Carl Holler. Two of hisuniforms, being one of leather (possibly the one of Lt. Kantel), the lute and pictures.

Like you they should imagine, I am very excited.

    Hi Guys,

On the page 50, #2, of Carl Holler's genealogical book we can read, when he describes his medals, that he was awarded with the " kriegsverdienstkreuz mit schwertern"

Did you have any idea about that medal, can you have photos for show me?
