The year is nearly over...no chance any more to get something for our collections We all have been digging for the little bits and pieces that have brought a smile on our faces.The big things,the little things,the missing piece of information that closes a gap in our knowledge.So what was your personal collecting highlight for 2007? A happy 2008 to all of you and your families-good health and good luck on all of your ways.....I will start with this little medal bar(not only iron crosses can bring a smile on my face ).

Nice bar but how fits a non-combatants iron cross to a combatants 1870/71 medal?

As you can see this bar had only two awards at the beginning,the 1871 medal was clearly added later.I have no idea why the owner has used a combatant medal and ribbon......

Well Micha,I can say only my last 2 purchases by ebay.That was my Xmas presant for me.

But a super nice 1870 bar!!Hope you had a good Xmas and in about 40 minutes a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
