Motorhead Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Some of you have seen this pics before, but if not.....
Tony Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 I've not seen them before, I think it looks great.Where did you find it and how is it attached to the uniform?Tony
joe campbell Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 someone who could afford this private purchase - andquite beautiful - piece, also had his uniform tailored.as with other posted crosses, there would be holestailored into the chest of the tunic for these.magnificent piece, micha (no "s" this time.)joe
Gordon Williamson Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Well, if there was ever an award for who could make up the most bizarre and confusing fixture for a decoration, it would be the guys whe designed these. Here's one I used to own.
joe campbell Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 gordon-this is why i LOVE Imperial pieces.what imagination! what execution!and this is why you need to add an Imperial volume to your growing number of publishing efforts!great picture.joe
Gordon Williamson Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 and this is why you need to add an Imperial volume to your growing number of publishing efforts!great picture.joeJoe, I fully intend to. It will be a major undertaking to get hold of as many pics of good imperial EK1s as possible to illustrate it though !!!
Bob Hunter Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 KMST certainly had some unique fastening setups.
Glenn R Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Strange, but somehow insanely attractive....
Motorhead Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 So we have 5 different KMST variations-I think the one Gordon showed is the rarest-it's the only one I've ever seen! Directly followed by Glenn's....I'm shure it will be evry difficult to complete the collection!Micha
Motorhead Posted January 21, 2006 Author Posted January 21, 2006 This one I bought before my holliday last year......and it dropped in today! Better late than never-I bought this one in the hope it could be a maker marked "heavy" variation of a KMST pinback. But it isn't....at the back there's a name engraved:Hptm Heinen, but it's not professional done and I can't say it's period made or just a poor try to "upgrade" this EK. Anyway, here are the pics(and now I'm unshure which one has to go....)Micha
joe campbell Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 micha-another beauty!i LOVE the catch! that's novel.and while inscriptions can be a little dicey, i like yours!nice find.joe
gregM Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Very nice cross. I am still looking to add my first KMST to my collection.Well done.Greg
