Do you know the name of this NCO? I asked the seller if the name was known and he said yes, that also appears in books, but for tell me the name I should win the auction.

I don't know the name yet but I remember to have seen this picture in a german forum. It seen that several prints of this pics exist, I own one myself won on Ebay one week ago.

Hello Jacques,

Just found this evening by chance his engraved dagger and a photo lot at Weitze. His name: Heinrich Aubeck of KG2. Need to translate the description to know his history but seems he was shot at Russia being the only survivor.

Thank you Jacques! I seem to learn something new from each photo. Can you zoom-in on his Cruz de Guerra? It seems less vaulted than an Egana-made badge, and it seems to lack the blue enamel ring surrounding the red/white enameled center.

A new one in my collection and one to keep this thread moving. Silver SC holder and if I'm not mistaken an earlier picture of the man in post 62.

No breast eagle or other ribbons but very close resemblance. Jacques?
