Stogieman Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Here's a rather spectacular photo of a Bavarian Veteran and long-serving Fireman
Stogieman Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 As an aside to our previous thread on the Saxon "Super hero".... note where this Bavarian has mounted his Prussian war-aid cross.... behind all four Bavarian decorations, but before his Bavarian red cross/fire service medals.
David Gregory Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Considering how many of these awards are sold for relatively low prices on eBay, it is nice to see so many "low-end" medals in wear. The image gives a perspective on otherwise anonymous collector's items. He obviously wore his awards with pride.
Kev in Deva Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Hallo Stogieman, a fantastic picture, thanks for sharing this gem.Kevin in Deva.
Ulsterman Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) I just saw this:magnificent!! By the way-is medal #4 (from the left) a munitions workers' medal, the uberrare one?Stogie-perchance do you own this at the moment? if so..... Edited April 12, 2008 by Ulsterman
Stogieman Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Hi Jeff, not mine... it was on eBay.de. I think the 4th medal is the Jubilee Medal...
Schießplatzmeister Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Hello everyone:I believe that the 4th medal from the left is the Bavarian Agricultural Jubilee Medal to be more specific. So, we have a farmer, soldier, and fireman. A busy fellow!I also believe that this photograph went to a collector in Bavaria .Best regards,"SPM"
VtwinVince Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Aha, nice to see the Fireman's Long Service Clasp in wear, as I just picked up one of these (thanks, Eric).
