slava1stclass Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 To all: There is a new museum in Moscow - The Musuem of Heroes of the Soviet Union, Russia and Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory. It is located on Bolshaya Cheremushkinskaya Ulitsa. Details follow below (in Russian). Be sure to check it out the next time you are in Mockba.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 This seems to be a private museum rather than a government one?

Herr General Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Maybe owned by one of those persons buying up all the high end Russian orders recently ?
Christian Zulus Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Maybe owned by one of those persons buying up all the high end Russian orders recently ?You guess, there might be a Russian variant of the British "Lord Ashcan" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ashcr..._Baron_Ashcroft , who built up an own museum for his incredible VC-collection .Best regards Christian
Lapa Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Maybe owned by one of those persons buying up all the high end Russian orders recently ? There has been a lot of private museums opening up in Russia over the past few years. I suspect that trend to be implicitly "encouraged" by the authorities.Marc
Ed_Haynes Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Interesting. You wonder how much ex-public-museum material is winding up in them. Does anyone check THOSE serial numbers? We all know the answers . . . ?
