Gordon Williamson
Some super photos there Bryan.I agree with Rick that #2 is definitely army, but I think #3 may well be navy. I think I can see the flat border/edge to the buttons that will be found with the field grey navy buttons, even if the anchor can't be clearly seen. #35 most definitely navy. The guy in #23 is definitely wearing the Second Class KVK at the neck. This is unusual but I have a photo on file somewhere of a Luftwaffe NCO wearing his just-awarded KVK2 at the neck too, so it did happen.

Verdun16
So was this guy in post #2 Navy and then went to the Army or? It happens now so I could believe it could have happened then. My commander at work used to be a Navy enlisted man and now is an Army officer,Bryan Edited April 2, 2008 by Verdun16
Naxos
The Reichsheer cut out helmet message isMeinem lieben Richardzum (I'd think Andenken but it is no "A" starting that)Erich S.Zum Gedenken (same meaning as "zum Andenken" both variations of "in Memory" can be used).Hardy

norwest78
Very interesting photos, Bryan. My favorite is the rather "uninteresting" one with the LW clasp and pendant.--Kevin
