buellmeister Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) Gentlemen, After a long hiatus from buying militaria, I broke down and actually twisted my own arm and had to buy (more like it) this beautiful worn EKII. I love the original ribbon which is faded, torn and has the oh so lovely patina on the frames! Plus, as an added bonus it was made by the firm, Wagner und Sohne. I want to thank Rick and Jeff for their inspiration in justifying my purchase on this one too..... Nice to see you both again! Cheers,Joel Edited April 7, 2008 by buellmeister
Danny70 Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Joel, You certainly had a good weekend... Another beauty. I'll bet your old 'rubber arm' didn't really take much twisting!! Welcome back into the addiction!Regards - Danny
buellmeister Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 I'll bet your old 'rubber arm' didn't really take much twisting!!No, not really...
DavidM Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 HelloThere's nothing wrong whatsoever with a bit self inflicted arm twisting, especially when it results in a fine speciemen like this one.
buellmeister Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 David, It had been too long since I have added any crosses to my collection. It was a welcome treat yesterday to open up my Imperial Case and my TR case to add a couple more! I think I'm going to have to ask Frontkampfer for an application to become a Member of his EK Hunting Club. Regards,Joel
Ulsterman Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 wicked nice! The older ribbons are becoming harder and harder to find-almost a predictor of originality these days
buellmeister Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 Jeff, Indeed! I love the been there and slightly tattered look. It does tell the better story in my book and certainly is an idicator of originality.
