Chris S Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 If I may permit here is my HSL to a women in 1949...awarded for something to do with Cannabis growing....The face and the second document...Chris
Chris S Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 The pair a bit closer....these orders I believe were very underrated by the collecting community and are beginning to pick up interest...I personally find the design of this medal to be the ultimate in Soviet ImageryChris
Guest Darrell Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Awesome groups Ed, You sure she wasn't doing a little professional boxing on the side for extra cash?
NavyFCO Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Here's a nice group that I just recently sold with not one, but three Orders of Lenin! Will post some more photos shortly... This fellow was the Soviet "Phillip Morris" - he was awarded his HSL for tobacco farming success! This group was bought directly from his family about two years ago. Dave
NavyFCO Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 Inside the order book. Unfortunately, one award is missing... A Badge of Honor.
Ed_Haynes Posted October 22, 2005 Author Posted October 22, 2005 Wonderful, Dave!I'd have liked to have adopted that one! Would have given it a good and loving home . . . .
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 As some interest had been expressed in seeing more of the documents in the stack of paper surrounding the Lidias Vasilovna Shapovalona's group, and as my Soviet stuff is visiting from the gulag this weekend for a major scanning project, here are a few more pieces of her paper, in no particular order:
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 While sohe may denigrate groups such as these, I suggest that they tell us more about the historical reality of the erstwhile USSR than does a HSL for Stalingrad.
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 Too big for the scanner, sorry, best I can do:
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 Not in very good shape and too big for the scanner.
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 This one, at least, fits on the scanner.
Ed_Haynes Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 Enough for now, should anyone wish details or more from her heap of paper, I can provide until these go back to the distant place where they live.
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Enough for now, should anyone wish details or more from her heap of paper, I can provide until these go back to the distant place where they live.Do we get to see the udders ?
