hipnos Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) Hi Miguel,The Polish medal it MEDAL OF VICTORY AND FREEDOM (Medal Zwyciestwa i Wolnosci 1945).RomanWith the dark photo the ribbon is the cue. Of course you has reason: but see as I ?ve say before...Anyway the seniority medal for service to the polish republic was a pre-communist award, restaured in 1998, I think...regards Miguel Edited June 4, 2008 by hipnos

Guest Rick Research Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 EXCELLENT selections again-- so many interesting things it is difficult to pick out which are the MOST interesting! The air force Lieutenant in #39 with the French Croix de Guerre is wearing a VERY strangely tailored uniform indeed. And the last fellow above, #40 with the "egg" --- KGB or MVD?

Ferdinand Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I think it's a Uzbek Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
Guest Rick Research Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Out of probably almost 300 Soviet portrait photos I have, maybe 10 are as nice as yours. But here is one with the same Uzbek Order of the Red Banner of Labor-- awarded to him in 1928:Major General of Naval Aviation Fedor Grigorievich Korobkov (1898-1942), taken some time between 1938 and when he was blown up at Sevastapol in 1942--closer on awardsname on the back, but I don't know if this is his autograph, or somebody else wrote his name:
Roman Slivin Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 If you lived in Russia at you would be more portraits. In my collection more than 2000 portraits, but I collect only portraits of military men which lived in my city.At me as it is a lot of doubles, but not all so are good as a portrait of general Korobkov.
Wild Card Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Roman Slivin and Ferdinand,Uzbek Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Yes. Thank you.Wild Card
