Alex K Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 so anyways, any opinions about the hole drilled into the top arm of the frame?!?Maybe it was to sew onto the uniform. Pity about the broken clasp. I've been waiting a long time for someone to post this type of cross, I believe it's the same as mine (hope you don't mind me attaching a photo, as I've never seen this type of reverse on another piece). any idea as to who the maker might be, comes in a maroon case.regardsAlex K
gregM Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I have always thought these to be period repairs. However these tocrosses appear to be identical. It would be interesting to find out howmany more of these are out there.

Richard Gordon Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Perhaps the hole was added to allow the piece to be worn with a chain? Maybe a widow or the like wearing it this way?Rich
