Deruelle Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hi, Rick tells me to put this picture here. Take a look at this helmet of Oberst Horst von Wolff. This is not my speciality so I appreciate your commentsRegardsChristophe
leigh kitchen Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Private purchase in aluminium or fibre? Interesting arrangement of pins
Guest Rick Research Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 That's what I thought. The ONLY fiber ones I've ever seen are double decal pre-war "parade" helmets.
Guest IMHF Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 (edited) This is a very nice Photo Thank you for sharing...Lorenzo Edited September 1, 2008 by IMHF
nesredep Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Hello!I agree, thanks for showing. :jumping: All the best Nesredep
VonBierStein Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Looks fibre to me. Really odd. Maybe it was a comfort thing. Combat helmets were heavy and I suppose he was used to wearing a field cap most of the time. Really nice pic by the way.
Kev in Deva Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hallo Gents, were fiber helmets not also allowed for any officer who had suffered head wounds?Did Oberst Horst von Wolff. suffer any such wounds in service (if any) in WW1?Kevin in Deva
Paul R Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I think that it is a fiber helmet as well. Very interesting photo there!
