Paul R Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Here is the one DDR Railway Service uniform I have. This one is custom tailor made and there are no inner stampings. I would love to see anything that falls in your collection under this genre!
Paul R Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 Going through my stuff, I found these tabs. Now what is the difference in the occupation between the red and blue piped tabs?
Kornilov Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 Here is the one DDR Railway Service uniform I have. This one is custom tailor made and there are no inner stampings. I would love to see anything that falls in your collection under this genre! Hello, here is my only item(s) representing the DDR Reichbahn. There are no markings inside the tunic.
Gordon Craig Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Paul R, Nice RB uniform. Looked through my files for pictures of my uniforms to post to your thread and was surprised to find I didn't have any! The boards in post #5 are earlier ones than on your uniform. There were a number of changes in board sizes over the years. Often the length and width only changed by a small amount which can make it difficult to tell exactly when the boards were worn. The size and type of button often changed with the dimentions of the boards. Since all my reference books are on their way to Canada I can not answer your question red colours right now. Perhaps in the not too distant future. Regards, Gordon
seb16trs Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 hello, the piping indicates the service : yellow is for signalisation (Kornilov's jacket), blue is for machines overhaul (Paul R). It seems that the visor caps does match the shoulder boards (the chinstrap indicates the ranks too). So Kornilov's uniform shown here is for me complete.

If anyone is interested, it is currently listed on the famous auction site. I like it, but I am not a Reichsbahn collector and I will probably want to buy something else down the road.
Paul R Posted September 11, 2009 Author Posted September 11, 2009 Thanks guys! Those are some wonderful examples. what does the red piping mean? Administration?
