    That's why I've bought it....but as longer as I'm looking at it I think the pin is a replacement.

    It must be easier to tell in hand. From the pictures it doesn't satnd out like a replecement as some pins do. I can see why you took the chance. My advice is to keep it. These are proably the nicest looking Iron Crosses, and if you ever see another one with the same pin, you'll feel bad if you let this one go. Looks like a good replacement job if it is one.

    Hi Micha,

    I agree with you - a replaced pin. There is work around the hinge and the central barrel segment does not align well with the outer barrel segments. Also, the basic shape of the pin does not look like "right". It also appears the basemetal of the pin has a slightly different (?yellowish) tone compared to the cross.

    I have two of this type and both have different pins. Here's one

    Other to follow is the 'standard' type. There may be other types too.

    Richard, that first one you posted, do you think the pin is original? Look at the gap between the pin and the barrels on either side. Maybe it is a replacement pin also.
