This board needs a shot in the arm so to speak. Have an interesting new cross-over group (Soviet/Mongolian) which I'll be posting this evening. Without the actual awards (unfortunately :() but some very nice (KGB) documents as well as a 100 year Lenin for foreigners document, and also a picture so we'll be able to look this "spy" (?) in the eyes.

Hopefully some of the Russian speakers will be able to translate some of the documents as some of the text may be interesting.

Natsagdorj... that names rings a bell...

    Scans to follow later today.

The big reddish doc with "order of lenin..." and then what? written on the top puzzles me - what is it?

The big brown document has the Soviet emblam embossed and "diplom" written on it... mystery to me as well

The three mongolian, small red booklets:

    - 1 for an early honorary medal of combat (nr 1899(

    - 1 for Order of the Red Banner of Labour Valour

    - 1 for a deputat

It says "Order of Lenin Higher Party School with the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union".

It is a diploma for passing a full course at the forementioned school between 1959 and 1962. I guess the "s otlichiyem" can be translated as "cum laude"?

Great, thanks. Not an order of lenin doc (too bad). The 100 year jubilee is a foreign awardee though

Guess he was what one would call an exchnage student:)

    • 3 weeks later...

it could be interesting to know more about this guy... Natsargdozh is a famous Mongolian author (1907-1937) and Gotoviy could be his son. It seems someone really tried to build his politian carreer as he became a honored KGB staff in 1958 and then entered the high CPSU school...
