Bob
This board needs a shot in the arm so to speak. Have an interesting new cross-over group (Soviet/Mongolian) which I'll be posting this evening. Without the actual awards (unfortunately ) but some very nice (KGB) documents as well as a 100 year Lenin for foreigners document, and also a picture so we'll be able to look this "spy" (?) in the eyes. Hopefully some of the Russian speakers will be able to translate some of the documents as some of the text may be interesting. Natsagdorj... that names rings a bell... Scans to follow later today. It says "Order of Lenin Higher Party School with the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union". I guess the "s otlichiyem" can be translated as "cum laude"?

Not an order of lenin doc (too bad). The 100 year jubilee is a foreign awardee though Guess he was what one would call an exchnage student:)

cosinus
it could be interesting to know more about this guy... Natsargdozh is a famous Mongolian author (1907-1937) and Gotoviy could be his son. It seems someone really tried to build his politian carreer as he became a honored KGB staff in 1958 and then entered the high CPSU school...
