christerd Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 (edited) Hi all, I know this is probably a stupid question but I ask it anyway Does anyone know or have any info about Bulgarian Generals during 1946-1990 ? I just bought another medal/order group to a GenLt and wonder if there is any way to find out more about him? His name was Toschkov Georgiev if I read right, I will post photos when it arrive. Theodor Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 He was Chief of Command West. It was indeed based in Sofia, but I believe that was a bigger thing, not just a town garrison, but the whole army structure in the western part of the country.
Ulsterman Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 Thanks! Theodor is the or was there a BCP Central Committee biography book?
Theodor Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 I am sorry but do not know! There must be something after all, next time I visit the National Library will try to find out.

Stogieman Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Nice partial group Christer. So many of these have been broken up, I'm happy to be able to get partials and i never stop looking for additional pieces to known names. I believe your last document is Bulgarian and the ink stamps look like MVR stamps. Can you post bigger scans please? Theodor? Petr? Anatoly? Can anyone help? Thanks, Rick
Guest Rick Research Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Last two-- something Bulgarian for international youth cooperation Last one is for the Soviet officers' 1st Class classification badge "wings" worn on the right side:
Theodor Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 The DKMS thing is International Youth Relay-Race "Memory". The last document is from the USSR. The ink stamp consists of the USSR State Emblem in the middle and in the circle Army Unit...number... It is certificate for 1st Class Specialist in the armed Forces of the USSR /at least I understand it this way from the document/. And that Class is given to the general by an army unit commander from the soviet Army - by order the Commander of Army Unit 42202, Colonel Gavrilov.
