I ended up buying a Hanoverian helmet at SOS. I know almost nothing about their uniforms and I know totally zero about medals. Was there a medal? how difficult would it be to get one? Are they very expensive? Thank you in advance.

There are a couple of threads regarding this campaign medal. Almost unique for a German medal, they were issued named and apparently the Hanovarian muster rolls are still out there, just waiting for someone to transcribe them.

That search was an education and fun to read. Like I said I know zero about medals however, it seems as though I am drawn to this one so I am now in the market for a medal bar I guess. Perhaps I am being drawn to the dark side!

They are? That would be really interesting, as 2 of my relatives were in the hannoverian army in 1866 1 in the 7th IR the other one in the Leib-Regiment. Do you have more details on the muster rolls?
