CRBeery Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I recently found this chain and I am not familiar with this long service award. I am used to seeing these with Roman numerals for the years of service. Is this a rare one or a generic "one size fits all" award. It is nice for being pre 1897.
Wild Card Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Hi CRBeery, How about this? Braunschweig Landwehr 2nd class schnalle, 1879-1886
CRBeery Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 That is it. I was stuck on Prussia so it did not make sense.

Ulsterman Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 The first and only Brunswick enamel schanlle I have ever seen. I bet there can't be more than 2-3 of them in the world.
saschaw Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 I had never seen one like that, until I got one two weeks ago. So two around... still not common. By the way, I think I've yet to see the Baden LD in mini size... anyone?
CRBeery Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 Very nice! Now there are two versions of these. I like yours better as the detail is nice. I guess mine is the early version.
saschaw Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Probably different makers, however yours must be older. Noone has a Baden one?

Best wishes, Wild Card Hello Wild Card, thanks a lot for the picture - here the reason (after fixing a problem with my camera). It's to compare it with my one - not often seen... regards westfale Edited May 15, 2010 by westfale
