pinpon590 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Hello ! I'm not a specialist of WW2 EKII... And a friend is asking me about this one. Silvered metal, 44x44,1mm, weight 21g. Ribbon is UV negative. No maker mark. Is it a good one or a fake ? Wich maker if it's a good one ? Thank you for yours opinion ! Edited May 10, 2010 by pinpon590
Hauptmann Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Is there a makers mark of any kind on the ring? It's generally stamped on there. If so a good closeup scan of that would help. Also is the core magnetic? Dan Edited May 10, 2010 by Hauptman
pinpon590 Posted May 10, 2010 Author Posted May 10, 2010 Hello ! No maker mark, even on the ring. The core is magnetic, I've forgotten to specify it... Thank you for your interest !
Hauptmann Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Afraid I'll have to leave this one to one of my more learned fellow members then as without a mark I'm generally not able to work out a maker. But I'm sure just by the look of it that someone might be able to figure it out. Good luck! Dan
Hauptmann Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 No problem! Sorry I couldn't do more. Let me try and see if some of the others can comment and give more info. Dan
ApathyL Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Hello PinPon, I think this is a maker #4 Steinhauer & Luck, also what you can find pretty common is that the small loop at the top is soldered only at the front, and then just bent back... I would like to see what others think but im pretty sure about my thought on it. regards, Les
Motorhead Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I have to disagree-after comparing this one with all maker marked pieces in my collection without success I've asked Grueni(excessive '39 EKII collector).he told me it's the "standard" one-always unmarked and still unidentified. Micha
