Paul R Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 The only example I have is seen below... the green backing has been heavily ravished by moths, yet the face of the board is in very nice shape. The light blue secondary waffenfarbe was used by the Judicial Officials. IAW "Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army 1933-1945" Vol 2, by Angolia. pg 134Lets see yours!
Paul R Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 I know that these are not popular to collect but there have to be some out there to post!!!
Laurence Strong Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 (edited) Here's my latest for the Wehrmacht, it has the Brown Nebenfarbe. I would like to know what it signifies, in the Luft the brown is for Fire Protection. I will post more over the next few days. Edited January 17, 2006 by Laurence Strong

Paul R Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 OK...The Lt Brown Waffenfarbe could represent one of the following:1. Barracks Administrator2. A non technical instructor at a professional school. The Lt Blue is for judical administrators. The bright red secondary waffenfarbe had MANY possiblities!
jcsanche Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 (edited) My administrator insignia are attached to the tunic.Shoulder boards Edited January 18, 2006 by jcsanche
Paul R Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 Juan,Awesome tunic! The white secondary waffenfarbe is one of the more common used colors. This Officer could have been:1. Food Supply Service2. Garrison Administration3. All Officials of the medium non-technical career field4. Pay Master5. Barracks Admin(Lower Career)6. Transport Service7. Disabled Persons and Veteran's Affairsfknorr,Is the waffenfarbe on your insignia pink or red?Paul
fknorr Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Is the waffenfarbe on your insignia pink or red?Red, they match up in color quite well to a pair of Heer Artillery Officer boards I have.
Paul R Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 This is what I have for possibilities for the Bright Red Secondary Waffenfarbe(that matches the arty waffenfarbe)1. Military Area Administration and Intendant's Servcie2. Agricultural Service3. Sound Ranging ServiceBTW, I am using "Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army" vol 2 by Angolia and Schlicht as a reference for this thread!(Chapter 14!)
fknorr Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 This is what I have for possibilities for the Bright Red Secondary Waffenfarbe(that matches the arty waffenfarbe)1. Military Area Administration and Intendant's Servcie2. Agricultural Service3. Sound Ranging ServiceBTW, I am using "Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army" vol 2 by Angolia and Schlicht as a reference for this thread!(Chapter 14!)There was also an Artillery Ranging Beamte shown too for "bright red"...are these "bright red" or a crimson though...?
Paul R Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 It seems like Angolia lists his colors differently than we are used to seeing them. For example...Carmine is known commonly for General staff and Veterinarian. Well, he names the color Crimson.Weinrot is known commonly for Judicial Officers. He names the color Carmine.Angolia names the color seen on arty boards as "bright red". So, with that in mind, I matched the colors and come up with the possiblities of your set.BTW, your set is very nice! Those upper level sets are hard to come by!As far as a Artillery Measuring Service, you are correct! I missed it when making my last reply! Thank you for the correction. For some strange reason, he(Angolia) has a (?) next to this entry...
Paul R Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 Very nice Feldwebel ranked examples!! The black piping could represent one of the following:1. Building Administration Service2. jcsanche Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 HII just have a question. Why the administrator cypher is sometimes silver and sometimes gold?Juan
Laurence Strong Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 (edited) The shoulder straps show the letters HV in white metal for non-officer officials, officials of the reserve (Lt - Major), officials with Generals rank. Yellow metal for active officials with the rank of Leutnant to Obrest. Hope this helps. Edited January 23, 2006 by Laurence Strong
Paul R Posted January 23, 2006 Author Posted January 23, 2006 Thanks Larry! I was getting ready to hit the books on that one! I figured that it had something to do with the career levels!Paul
