But the participator medal is on the rolls as well, there will be alot of more work looking through them now and won't be able to pin pointing it. I didn´t realized how rare the Olympia medal where before the auction ended , otherwise I probably had bid on it. Since I collect German Imperial I first thought it was the Olympic memory medal but that one was only awarded 50 times in silver ! So how rare is this one ? Medals in all. From 1908-1924 they where big and Heavy in all 6 or 7 gold medals if I remember right. I suppose à olympic collector would Have fainted Christer

Christer I don't have the number times this 1912 Sweden Olympic medal was awarded. However from the roster of Swedes and foreigner participants involved in the 1912 Olympic games in some official capacity I would say it was much more than 50. Perhaps 500 or 1,000. I don't know. It is still a rare enough medal. I have a list of German participants at the Games. While it is not a long one, but it isn't so short that it would have been easy to ID the medalbar. (And it doesn't have first names.) Although others may have sources. Did RaZpuTIN say he was checking on recipients of the Vasa Order? Although I'm sure many Germans who received the 1912 Olympic medal may also have received the Vasa Order, but it might have narrowed the field. Also, I don't know if anyone know the particulars to the Romanian Cross or the number of recipients?

Claudius
Could you post the list of Germans? Even without the vorname, cross referencing might narrow it down considerable. It’s all academic now anyway as no one here appears to have bought the bar. I’ll just have to wait for the next German medal bar with a 1912 Swedish Olympic medal on it to come up for sale. Shouldn’t be more than two or three …decades…
