FrontlineAntiques Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Hi all This little beauty arrived yesterday as part of a very eclectic mixed collection i bought. I have nver had an EK2 before, so i am very chuffed with this! Maker marked to the ring as "93" which I think is Richard Simm und Sohne, Gablonz What do you guys think of it? Cheers Dan
Danny70 Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Dan, That's a nicely worn looking example - just how I like them. It has a typical of the maker 'wide' frame with a very nice patina. Congratulations on your first EK2.... may it be the first of many! Regards - Danny
FrontlineAntiques Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 Thanks Danny To be honest, I had been considering giving it a clean up.... Was told it would respond well to a rub with alcohol. But I like the patination on the rim so will leave it well alone. Its got that ”Been there” look. Dan
kapten_windu Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 having first EK2 is very nice experience, i also has just get it a week ago, an EK2 mm 25, and i want more!! hahaha....
FrontlineAntiques Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Its a great feeling Windu! And I think that we have both done very well to find such nice examples Dan
Brian Wolfe Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Hi Dan, A very nice addition to your collection. I recall my first EK (I and II)it's a great feeling. I have to say that after adding several more to my collection I still get excited when I find a new one. If you decide to clean it up a bit plese post the results. Personally I would leave it as is but, as has been said many, many, times here on the GMIC, that's a personal preference. Regards Brian
