EK 1939 Another Virginity Gone! My 1st EK2

Hi all

This little beauty arrived yesterday as part of a very eclectic mixed collection i bought.

I have nver had an EK2 before, so i am very chuffed with this!

Maker marked to the ring as "93" which I think is Richard Simm und Sohne, Gablonz

What do you guys think of it?

That's a nicely worn looking example - just how I like them.

It has a typical of the maker 'wide' frame with a very nice patina.

Congratulations on your first EK2.... may it be the first of many!

To be honest, I had been considering giving it a clean up.... Was told it would respond well to a rub with alcohol. But I like the patination on the rim so will leave it well alone. Its got that ”Been there” look.

Hi Dan,

A very nice addition to your collection. I recall my first EK (I and II)it's a great feeling. I have to say that after adding several more to my collection I still get excited when I find a new one.

If you decide to clean it up a bit plese post the results. Personally I would leave it as is but, as has been said many, many, times here on the GMIC, that's a personal preference.
