Chris Boonzaier
I have not really bought an EK in Ages, although I have landed up with quite a few... Today I could not resist this one....

Chris Boonzaier
verrry nice... flat? both retaining discs are killer! Yup, its flat. What I noticed right away, the bck plate and the flat part of the rim are thinner than usual, and the guy who did the soldering was a real professional, no blobs of solder. as a result, the cross is very flat. Eric Stahlhut
the core is prolly super-thin too. and quite fragile!
saschaw
Looks like a Frankenstein to me - but apparently an old one? I'd love to hear what Micha thinks about it.

I think a not too expensive (in retail back then) cross from the interwar years. best Chris

Chris Boonzaier
This is astonishingly close to this EK2... the core has details that are also twin, and although the frame is different, it is the same thin stamping. The EK2 is stamped S-W
Chris Boonzaier
I am going to have to eat crow here.... Some folks mentioned the strange patina... and I just thought "screw them! " today... I figured I would prove this patina is not hiding a dark secret.... So I cleaned the silver.... and found out that the back plate seems to be copper!!!! Chris Boonzaier
I am wondering if I should mark this and sell it as a good copy, loosing EUR100 on it... Or should I be curious and rip the back plate off, loosing EUR160 ? How bad should I make my day?
