I would like to hear your opinion on this medal. Is this medal an unofficial Type 2?

Hello dron,

I stick to the Alex Laslo classifications system for all vics; and would describe your example as an unofficial strike.

 

It is clear by your picture that there is no 'C.Charles' name on the obverse. There are similar examples already posted in this sub-thread as follows:

• post of 14 June 2014, on page 4 of this sub-thread.
• post 9 November 2019, on page 7 of this sub-thread.

You have posted a nice example in good condition. I would, however; replace the contemporary thicker weave ribbon with some correct to type French produced ribbon from the 1920-1930's to make the piece more correct to era.
