Stogieman Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Well, I say the abreviation stands for:"5 1/2 Seconds Grenade Yes Boom"
Daniel Murphy Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 Actually that is the unit marking for the 5 1/2th company of the 2nd Gebirgsjager Battalion. Truthfully it means the grenade has a 5 1/2 second fuze and "G.J.B." is the initials of the company that made the grenade.Dan Murphy
Fritz die Spinne Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Speaking of maker marks on grenades, any documented for Gebr. Bing?
Chris Boonzaier Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 They marked their grenades Gebr. Bang! :-)

The Prussian Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Do we know all the makers? Is that abbr. well-known?
Chip Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Hi Andy, I think some makers are known. I have not seen a "list" per se. Chip
