Chris Boonzaier Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I assume this is a Bavarian Bravery? The guy seems to have been "Hofmann" (one F) living in Friedrich Strasse in München...
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Hi Chris, yes this is bavarian bravery , cool pic with the spiked helmet !!!
Chris Boonzaier Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Unfortunately, if the Hofmann is correct, there are more than a few in the book... if ONLY the shoulder straps had been readable!!!!!!!
christerd Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 And speaking about Bavarian Bravery medals Did anyone se that original box for a medal on German Ebay ? sold for 546 Euro !! I knew that the medals are rare and suppose the boxes are really rare but still 546 E for a box ? And I thought the MVK boxes was expensive :cheeky:
Chris Boonzaier Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 A couple more... From the date and company it is possible to narrow this down to Gold Medal winner Adalbert Thalammer from the 10th Comp. 8 Bav Inf. regt. The 2nd one unknown, probably Bav 20. I.R.
Stogieman Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Very hard to find a box for a Bavarian Bravery Medal, I've only had a couple over all the years, Chris, outstanding photo!
Ulsterman Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 He should be easy to find as the Munich residency files from 100 years ago are still around. I flipped through a few when I was there last Fall. Try the City Museuem or the army museum, as their research halls are fantastic.
