    You might want to inquire over at the Gunboards forum, the Japanese section - they've got some serious weapons experts there.

    i have to agree that it is a chinese copy.

    I also agree with Gunboards forum being very good on these type of edged weapons.

    In the past few decades the Chinese have indeed been making copies of the older Katanas in addition to the WWII Naval and Army swords.

    The members posting before me have called this one correctly, a copy from China, so I am really only adding my "vote" that it is a copy.

    I agree. Chinese copy for sure. I would NEVER buy a sword from any auction site where the seller is in China. Even if the seller for this particular sword is not in China, I still believe it is a Chinese copy. There are just too many things wrong with it...and that's just from one picture. My suggestion is to stay away from it.

    The sticker is probably identifying the lot number from an auction. I am starting to see many fakes on these live auctions (not like the online auctions like ebay).
