JapanX Posted July 4, 2014 Author Posted July 4, 2014 Well, to be honest I was too lazy and I thought that you would do it, once you'd see the topic. You always has a good excuse ... kinda I wonder what they did to the reverse... Scotch?
ray11 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Hello, just to say that if someone like me with no knowledge of Japanese medals were looking to buy one of these i would or could get badly burned and i have a feeling that no one IE ebay would give a ---- yes. So just saying try to know what you are doing before you buy. I believe I have been lucky in that i only buy from people who seem to be honest and most are honest, only takes one bad apple to screw things up. Hope I am not to boring I just had to vent. Best to all,Ray
JapanX Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 ... only takes one bad apple to screw things up. Damn right, Ray! Cheers, Nick
JapanX Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 It seems that the same manufacturers that made the fake 2nd class rising sun, now faked the paulonian flowers breast star: Now in Japan Cased!
JapanX Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 Nope. This is not scotch (although it`s scotch you need after looking at this ) Simply paper

JapanX Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 Personally I find comfort in the fact that it is still a long distance between these and soviet fakes

hc8604 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I haven't seen any Chinese fakes replicate the exact same font. They use modern font to stamp the medals. Both have the manufacturer marks circled in red. You did point out that the Brilliant Star and Cloud and Banner use the same base layer, didn't realize that, so it could be either one.
JapanX Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Hmmm Let`s see Looks like some chap decided to solder new hook in wrong place instead of original that was lost . And upper inscription was erased completely (why?!?)
JapanX Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 "Diamonds" at rays look pretty unusual too instead of Polished?
hc8604 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Yeah probably polished, the high points are worn down.
