Chris Boonzaier Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 ... he may have been an officer, he was an ejicated man... Erich Riecke killed on the 27.3.1918.
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 when you put his name in ancestry, the 1st two entries may be him... if anyone is paid up at the moment... ;-.)
Glenn J Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Chris, ... he may have been an officer, he was an ejicated man... Probably not; the only Riecke listed in the Ehrenmal des preußischen Offizier-Korps was a Leutnant d.R. in Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 83 killed on 8 January 1915. Regards Glenn
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Well... I guess he worked for a living then ;-)
AOK4 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) He was not necessarily an officer if he was a young student enlisted in 1917 or something... Edited December 17, 2011 by AOK4
AOK4 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 I checked ancestry. The 1st entry is for a Erich Riecke, born in Berlin and serving in 10/IR 168 when he was leicht verwundet somewhere in 1915... (ancestry only has the Verlustlisten until September 1917, so nothing from 1918 there)
Ulsterman Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 ....um...what is this? Is it a desk ornament?
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 ....um...what is this? Is it a desk ornament? Yup, maybe 13 or 14cm high, perfect for the mantlepiece....
