Chris Boonzaier Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Private purchase, but the nicest Bavarain I have (in fact the only Bavarian Field Grey :-( )
Hauptmann Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Absolutely beautiful! :jumping:  Looks like it was just made yesterday... fantastic condition. Love the way you've displayed it. Thanks for sharing! Dan
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 Does anyone have a postcard/Pic of men of the 6th Bavarain Field Arty? If possible early war? Thanks+Chris
IrishGunner Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) Does anyone have a postcard/Pic of men of the 6th Bavarain Field Arty? If possible early war? Thanks+Chris For 6. b. FAR, I have a Sterbebild 1918 and a post card from 1915 with the unit stempel and Feldpost stempel dated 1915 of 5. Bayer. Inf. Div; unfortunately, the photo on the card is not really of the unit. I think it's a "stock" photo of some troops receiving "Instruktion in der Kirche zu Hattonville" (phrase on the card). I have dozens more cards to inventory and file; I'll watch for more 6. b. ccj Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Nicely displayed. I like Bavarian items, not that I have much in my collection. Yours is a very nice 1019 pattern tunic.
Chris Boonzaier Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 It is unfortunately a private purchase one of thinner wool than the issue ones. But still, it is Bavarian...
Chip Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 It is unfortunately a private purchase one of thinner wool than the issue ones. That's the reason it's so nice. It most likely was the fellow's walking out dress uniform (not worn much and often kept at home or in the Kaserne). Chip
