IrishGunner
Does anyone have a postcard/Pic of men of the 6th Bavarain Field Arty? If possible early war? Thanks+Chris For 6. b. FAR, I have a Sterbebild 1918 and a post card from 1915 with the unit stempel and Feldpost stempel dated 1915 of 5. Bayer. Inf. Div; unfortunately, the photo on the card is not really of the unit. I think it's a "stock" photo of some troops receiving "Instruktion in der Kirche zu Hattonville" (phrase on the card). I have dozens more cards to inventory and file; I'll watch for more 6. b. ccj
Nicely displayed. I like Bavarian items, not that I have much in my collection. Yours is a very nice 1019 pattern tunic.
Chris Boonzaier
It is unfortunately a private purchase one of thinner wool than the issue ones. But still, it is Bavarian...
Chip
It is unfortunately a private purchase one of thinner wool than the issue ones. That's the reason it's so nice. It most likely was the fellow's walking out dress uniform (not worn much and often kept at home or in the Kaserne). Chip
