Turkey "Imtiyaz" medal for discussion.

My friend bought this medal, but I have some doubts about it.

I'm not an expert on Turkish awards and quality of medal looks strange for me.

Will be appreciate for any opinions about.

Your friends Imtiyaz Medal looks OK to me...as we know Imtiyaz Medal was established in 1882,and came in two classes, gold and silver.

I would recommend your friend to make sure that this piece is silver,also the weight should be 21-22 grams and 37.5mm in dimension.

Medal is original and in good condition. But the Silver suspension and the ribbon is new and later attachment.

If you really want to be sure please ask your friend as ottomanmedal suggested to check the weight and size. 21.2 gr and 37.5 mm.

Yes, he already check the weight and size of medal - all are OK.

for the later minted medals such as Big Imtiyaz , Liyakat , Donanma-İ iane , Greek War and etc.. The weight examination is OK but for the older minted Ottoman medals , it is not a way to check originality as many of the originals ( even same medal ) has different measurements .

Is it only the medal or the ring attaching the medal to the suspension section included?

It is the complete medal, but not in my collection.

There are both medals, silver and gold, in the original case for both medals together.
