Paul R Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 This is what I have for a Serbian Civil War grouping. The jacket is a 1997 make. The hat is from 1995.
Paul R Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Does anyone else have any related items?
Chris Boonzaier Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 1997... Thats a. Bit late isnt it??
Paul R Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 1997... Thats a. Bit late isnt it?? In a sense... but that area was pretty much in a state of civil war from 1991 until March of 1999. War in Slovenia (1991) Croatian War of Independence (1991–1995) Bosnian War (1992–1995) Kosovo War (1998–1999) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars
Laurence Strong Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Nice one Paul. Here is a quick shot of my Yugo grouping. It's an old, weel worn JNA tunic. The discoloration if where the nap has gone from the material. Followed by an assortment of other items I found in Croatia in '92. Items were hard to come by, as the Croats were still fighting and they kept a tight rein on military itmes. Larry
Paul R Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Great stuff Larry! Are there any insignia on the jacket? Here are a couple additional items. Up first is a Serbian Naval Officer's beret. Both the beret and the insignia are dated 1994.
Paul R Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 Here is an Army General's beret. It is worn and the insignia is pressed into the fabric. They have been together for a long time.
zoranis Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Beret/ NCO cap badges were officially in use just a few months in 1994
Paul R Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Were they widely distributed during this time, or not really many people had them then? Whey were they discontinued?
zoranis Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Eagle badges were introduced on June 16th 1994. In October was desided that NCOs will use the same badges as officers.
Paul R Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 So in reality, not many NCOs changed their badges? How many Serbian Army Generals would there have been on active duty at any given time back then?
zoranis Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 all of them had to change badges Army NCO badge is not rare, rarest is Navy NCO badge can't say how many generals VJ had can you take picture of the back of your general badge?
