Paul R Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I am really excited to find this rare Soviet Naval Ensign. The familiar orange and black striped ribbon at the base designate the unit(ship) that flew this ensign as a "Guards" unit. Pretty cool stuff. Are there any more out there? Lets see what you have! Also, what ships were designated as Guards units? There could not have been too many.
Belaruski Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I can't answer your question, but I just wanted to say that's a lovely flag!
Paul R Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Thank you very much. I am very happy with it. It just arrived the other day. It is a small piece, maybe for a patrol craft?
Paul R Posted January 21, 2013 Author Posted January 21, 2013 Does anyone else come across these? If so, lets see them!
rocketscientist Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I have recently got this one, made of wool. I think it is very recent, but I cannot see any markings or writing to help identification. I hope you'll like it. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-5691-0-76239800-1380382511.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-5691-0-86660800-1380382550.jpg http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-5691-0-67921300-1380382576.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_09_2013/post-5691-0-46116800-1380382601.jpg
JapanX Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Nice flags guys! P.S. Also, what ships were designated as Guards units? There could not have been too many. Check out this short article devoted to guards naval depots during WWIIhttp://www.balancer.ru/forum/punbb/attachment.php?item=33701
