lambert Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Hi all I got a few days this Red Star, I am not sure if it is old or newer. Please could you tell me about it? Best Regards Lambert
IrishGunner Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 This website is a good source of info on ORS. Accordingly, your number should be around 1945. http://soviet-awards.com/digest/redstar/RedStar1.htm
lambert Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Thank you. Rick The site is very good! Took Me many questions. Best Regards Lambert
NavyFCO Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 There's a pinned thread with thousands of numbers: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/35306-soviet-serial-numbers-for-military-awards/ Looks like yours, if it's a 260XXXX as I'm seeing it from the photos, was an early 1945 award. Probably a good candidate for research. Dave
lambert Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Thanks Dave. This will be very helpful. is it possible that I get more information about the person who was awarded. Lambert
Ferdinand Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 It's an original star, aside from the replaced enamel on the top arm. It was manufactured in September 1945
Paul R Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Based upon the number, I would research it. It would be a great Battle for Berlin candidate, or it could be for Long Service.
